UK Visa: Uk Visa Sought For Khanda’s Kin | Chandigarh News


Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) chief Paramjit Singh Sarna has urged the British high commission to issue visas to the family of late Avtar Singh Khanda to attend his final rites in the UK. “We saw disturbing reports about Khanda’s family being denied UK visas. The British high commission should honour the international covenant on human rights and let his family attend the rituals and service in the UK, where he passed away recently,” Sarna said. The Akali leader sought the intervention of the EAM in the matter.

Students see PSLV-C56 launch Chandigarh: As many as 18 students of School of Eminence witnessed the launch of PSLV-C 56 at Sriharikota. School education minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the government is constantly striving to provide best education to the students of government schools. He said the students of government schools of Punjab will be present at all the launches by ISRO in the future.

Int’l ‘Gatka’ seminar at US Chandigarh: To promote “Gatka” across the globe, World Gatka Federation (WGF) organised an international seminar at Gurdwara Glen Rock, New Jersey, USA. The seminar, organised under the theme “Gatka: Self-defence, Empowerment of Women, and Against Substance Abuse” was held in association with the International Sikh Martial Art Council. It witnessed the convergence of promoters, experts, community leaders, and gurdwara management committee members.
